Entlang des Strandes spenden Tamarisken natürliche Schatten, und es gibt organisierte Bereiche mit Liegen und Sonnenschirmen für alle, die Komfort und Entspannung suchen. Der Sonnenuntergang hier ist magisch – die Sonne taucht das Meer in goldenes Licht, die ein- und auslaufenden Schiffe schaffen eine stimmungsvolle Kulisse, und die letzten Schwimmer genießen das erfrischende Wasser.

Hier jedoch findest du charmante Bars, in denen du bei einem Cocktail den Sonnenuntergang genießen oder in einem ruhigen Restaurant mit Blick auf den beleuchteten Hafen essen kannst.
Was gibt es in Kamares zu sehen?
- Die Kapelle der Agia Aikaterini: Auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite der Bucht gelegen, führt ein gepflasterter Pfad dorthin. Der Blick von dort ist atemberaubend – die Ägäis liegt vor dir, der Hafen im Blick und die gesamte Bucht von zwei Bergen umrahmt. Perfekt für einen gemütlichen Spaziergang, besonders am späten Nachmittag.
- Die Kirche der Agia Marina: Weiter oben auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite der Bucht mit einem fantastischen Sonnenuntergangsblick. Etwa 100 Stufen führen hinauf – der Aufstieg lohnt sich!
- Das Kloster Agios Simeon: Wer den besten Panoramablick auf Kamares und die gesamte Insel erleben möchte, sollte zum Berg Agios Simeon hinaufwandern. Besonders am Nachmittag, wenn die Sonne untergeht, ist der Ausblick überwältigend.
- Spuren der Bergbaugeschichte: In Kamares findest du Überreste des Bergbaus aus dem 19. Jahrhundert – wie den alten Pier (1909), den Leuchtturm (1896) und die Reste von Öfen und der Erzverladestation (1883).
